hope for your heart

How’s your heart? Sad, lonely, panicked, unsettled at peace. Perhaps a mixed bag of all at any given time. I recently read a post, because well, we are all scrolling a little more in our “spare time,” and it put my heart a little more at rest. I wanted to share with you in this unprecedented season we find ourselves in. The more we can pour courage into each other, the better we can become through this.

“…observe this pause as an opportunity. The same systems we see crumbling in society are being called to crumble in each of us. Individually. The systems that taught us we are machines that live to produce and we are disposable if we are not doing so. The systems that taught us monetary gain takes priority over humanity. The systems that create our insecurities then capitalize off of them.
What if we became curious with this free time and had no agenda other than to experience being? What if you created art for the sake of creating? What if you allowed yourself to rest and cry and laugh and play?
…What if our true purpose is found in this space?”

Reading this reminded me to take the pause and be kind to myself. In this uncertainty I do not need to react, I need to remember. This is no surprise to my God. And in this space I know he plans to work on my behalf, and yours for the GOOD. It is not my job to solve all the feelings but to soothe them. We can take our problem, our need, our lack, our worry, our pandemic to Jesus and get our minds on a miracle. I do not need to do something more, but to give with what is already in my hands.

Here are two specific things you can use to bring hope to your heart that have been soothing me daily.

worship.

The Bible says in Psalm 22:3 that He actually lives and dwells in our praises. This is the mystery and the miracle of the breakthrough power and presence of God when we worship! When we worship, we affirm the truth of God’s Word, and it is being rooted deep in our hearts. I’m sending you a play list to blast on repeat. Worship gives us access to God. It changes hearts. It changes mindsets. In worship, our focus shifts from us to the Lord. From problems to The Solution. From pain to promise. From hurt to hope. Click this link for my current playlist.

promise.

Proverbs 4:22 says, “…as you unwrap my words, they will impart true life and radiant health into the very core of your being.” The power of meditating on His true words in a time of uncertainty will give you hope at your very core. I have attached twenty promises to combat your fear. I must feed my faith. Telling myself to STOP fearing doesn’t always work. I have to START believing. Speaking scripture-inhaling promise, breathing out hope.
