Focusing on Following Jesus

John 21:22 (NIV)

Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.”

Jesus’ response to Peter is clear and timeless: “Don’t worry about him. You just focus on following me.”

These words offer us the same guidance when we are caught up in comparison. Our primary focus should be on following Jesus and embracing the purpose He has for us. Jesus emphasizes that the ultimate goal is to follow Him.

Our faith is not a competition or a race against others. It’s a deeply personal and intimate relationship with our Savior. When we prioritize following Jesus, we align ourselves with His teachings, values, and character. This means seeking to love as He loved, serve as He served, and grow in spiritual maturity.
