Down Syndrome: The Unexpected Miracle
Today marks fourteen years since my oldest daughter, Addie entered this world. The day she was born brought me from the highest height to the lowest low. The unexpected diagnosis of Down Syndrome sucked all the air out of the room that day. In the moments that followed, I felt like my life was over. I had no idea what life with Addie might look like. I was sad and afraid. But what I have learned in the fourteen beautiful years since then is that her birthday was actually when my life truly began. And so I wanted to share with you an elevated perspective about people with Down Syndrome. I believe it will add joy, increase your own faith and perhaps build hope in areas of your life where YOU have challenges. Perhaps you will see that some of life’s greatest difficulties are actually the starting points of our greatest miracle.
