2 Corinthians 9:8b (NIV)

…so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

I was recently at The Ritz Carlton at Laguna Niguel, a place of luxury and opulence. I was there for a gathering of remarkable women, an Instagram-worthy moment. And then, the unexpected visitor appeared, the nagging voice, you’re not enough.

In the moment the voice was relentless. The nagging of inadequacy had me shrinking in defeat. You’re not enough feeds on our comparisons, our fears, and our desperate need for approval. It thrives in a world that encourages us to measure up to standards set by others.

Yet, in the midst of this struggle, the second part of the scripture in 2 Corinthians, “so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work,” offers a lifeline. It reminds us that God’s blessings are abundant and that we are equipped for every good work. From the very beginning, God designed us with unlimited potential and showered us with His blessings. The world’s myth of scarcity may try to convince us that someone else’s success threatens our own, but this is far from the truth.

Here’s the liberating reality: there’s room at the table for everyone. You don’t have to prove your worth or fear that you won’t measure up. Instead of comparing yourself to others, rise by lifting them up. Celebrate their successes without insecurity, and you’ll truly live abundantly.

In Him, you are fearfully and wonderfully made, fully equipped to make a difference with the gifts and talents uniquely bestowed upon you. Trust in His abundance and let go of the need to prove yourself. In Him, you will find rest from imposter syndrome and embrace the true worth He has already given you.

Today, reflect on your own story and the areas or times you have felt inadequate.

Are you holding back due to a fear of not measuring up? What is unique about you?

How can you embrace your uniqueness and find comfort in the truth that God’s abundance is available to you, just as you are?
