Psalm 139:1-5 (NIV)

O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; You perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; You are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue You know it completely, O Lord. You hem me in behind and before, and You lay your hand upon me.”

Have you ever found yourself yearning for more in life? More recognition, more success, more influence? It’s natural to desire progress and growth, but what if “more” isn’t always about external achievements or recognition from others?

We often get caught up in the world’s definition of success, where significance is measured by titles, accomplishments, and the applause of the crowd. We chase after bigger and better things, hoping to find our worth and identity in the approval of others. But what if God’s definition of “more” is different from the world’s?

God often calls us into hidden seasons, moments when we may feel unseen, unappreciated, or unnoticed. These are the times when we are in the refining fire, where our faith is tested, and our character is molded. In these hidden places, God is doing something extraordinary.

The world may see these seasons as setbacks or obscurity, but in God’s eyes, they are divine appointments for growth, surrender, and deepening intimacy with Him. It’s in these hidden moments that we discover that our work is not our worth. We were created for a purpose, not just the grand stages of life but for the quiet and hidden ones as well.

Consider the mundane and unseen seasons of life, like raising children, managing a home, or working in a seemingly insignificant role. Are these not the very places where God meets us, whispering, “Invest here. This is where you’ll find more of Me”?

When we chase after “more” that the world offers, we may lose sight of the essential truth that our significance comes from being God’s child. It’s not about what we do; it’s about Whose we are.

Embracing hidden seasons is a way of yielding control and surrendering our desires for external recognition. It’s a declaration that God’s plan is far better than anything we could design for ourselves. It’s an act of faith to put down our ambitions and allow God to guide us along the path He’s laid out.

In the hidden seasons, we learn to trust Him more, cherish His presence, and draw our identity from Him alone. Instead of striving for the applause of many, we live for an audience of One. It’s in this stillness, vulnerability, and surrender that we find true strength and discover the “more” that God has prepared for us.

Your worth is not defined by the world’s standards of success, but by your identity as a child of the Most High. So, when you find yourself in a hidden season, remember that you are not hidden from God’s view. He has you all to Himself, shaping and molding you for His purposes.

Life is a series of seasons, and God holds the beginning and end of each one. When He calls you into hiddenness, embrace it as your divine calling. Less in the world’s eyes can be more in God’s kingdom. He’s leading you into the next step, even if you can’t see it now. God’s work in you is often unseen and misunderstood, but it’s making something more beautiful than you could ever imagine.

So, when life takes you into the hidden place, take that journey with Him. Put down the hustle, surrender your desires for external recognition, and hold on to more of Him with your whole heart. In those hidden seasons, you will find more of God than you ever expected.
