Micah 7:7 (NIV)

But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.

“I wish I’d started sooner.”

“If only I knew then what I know now.”

I’ve had thoughts like these a thousand times. Thoughts of regret, of anxiety about wasted time and opportunity. This is a horrible burden to carry. As we walk out our faith and pursue the purposes of Jesus,  it’s crucial to recognize that dwelling on regrets doesn’t change our past or our future.

I find such comfort in this passage in Micah 7:7 as it provides us with a source of hope. It tells us that, as for us, we can “watch in hope for the Lord and wait for God our Savior.” Our God hears us, and He is at work in our lives, even when we don’t see immediate results.

As we learn to accept God’s timing, we find peace. Jesus is the person of peace, and so we find Him as we wait. We receive hope in knowing that His promises are faithful. Embracing the waiting period with patience and trust is a way of aligning ourselves with His perfect plan. It’s an opportunity to surrender our own desires and plans and to trust in His wisdom.

The delay we experience is not a detour from our journey but an essential part of it. It’s during these waiting periods that we are being prepared, equipped, and molded for what lies ahead. God is at work, even when we can’t see it.

Today, I invite you to release the burdens of regrets and the pressure of rushing forward. Trust in God’s timing, for He is orchestrating a beautiful and purposeful plan for your life. Embrace the waiting with patience and hope, knowing that as you align yourself with Him, His appointed time will surely come, and it will be worth the wait.
